but, we forgot to mention a couple things.
1 – OMG, the altitude. Yeah, it gets me every time. 8,500 feet (or even Denver’s mile high status) is really really far up there, and it takes a while to acclimate. On the ride up I really didn’t feel well, but the end of the day it was much better. Give yourselves some time and lots of water and you will feel much better.
2 – The chill. It actually has been a bit colder than last year at night and the early mornings. Mid-30s will require more sweaters and hats than the 40s.
3 – THE REALLY IMPORTANT PART! Saturday is also the Basalt River Days. This is good and bad. Good part is that Basalt (the nearest town) will be having a festival all day, which is the bad part too. Bad because they will be shutting down the main street. There is an alternate route. From Colorado 82 you will still turn onto Two Rivers Road, but instead of turning at Midland please turn on Cottonwood Drive. (If you are coming from Denver it will be a left, if you are coming from Aspen it will be a right.) This connects to Midland Ave./Frying Pan Road (towards the Ruedi Reservoir), make a right at this Stop Sign.

Hi guys,
This is an unrelated post. But what name did you leave for the reservation at Diamond J for us? We just called and they couldn’t find us.
